PASIGHAT, Mar 17: As per the direction of the Election Commission of India (ECI), East Siang DEO Tayi Taggu on Sunday held a consultative meeting with the representatives of various political parties, wherein they were briefed on election model code of conduct, election expenditure monitoring and nomination process etc.The DEO advised the political parties to follow the rules and guidelines laid down for smooth conduct of the election.
Taggu during a media briefing this evening also informed that the district is fully prepared and set to conduct the ensuing polls error-free. 2nd phase of training for polling personnel of East Siang commenced on March 16 and 17 and they were imparted hands-on training on handling of electronic voting machine (EVM) and VVPAT by the district level master trainers, he added.
Taggu advised government officials to discharge duties and responsibilities with utmost sincerity and asked them to get their doubts cleared, if any, during their phase wise trainings.
In the meantime, the DEO along with Supdt. of Police SK Singhal, Sector Magistrates and Sector Police Officers on Saturday and Sunday visited all 18 critical polling stations of the district and took stock of the assured facilities in those polling stations which fall under 37th Pasighat West, 38th Pasighat East and 39th Mebo Assembly constituencies. During his inspection, the DEO interacted with the Gaon Buras and gave them necessary instruction to conduct upcoming simultaneous elections in a peaceful and transparent manner. 
Attending the consultative meeting this evening, SP Singhal sought cooperation from all political party representatives in particular and society as a whole to ensure smooth conduct of the election with an assurance that police personnel would be cooperative and helpful during their duties. He asked the political parties to follow the guidelines framed by the ECI to avoid future complications.
