PASIGHAT, Nov 4: Rejecting the permission sought by Central Solung Festival Celebration Committee, Pasighat to conduct a Lottery/Gift coupon draw including Housie and other gambling, the East Siang Deputy Commissioner in an order said that the government has declined permission to conduct lottery draw by the Solung committee.
In his order, Dy. Commissioner, East Siang, Tamiyo Tatak said that the government of Arunachal Pradesh vide office order No. LOT-14/2010/104 dated 23rd March 2010 has imposed a complete ban on lottery/housie/dice, etc throughout the state of Arunachal Pradesh, read with Section-2 of “The Public Gambling Act, 1867” which have been complied with within the jurisdiction of East Siang district till date. 
Clarifying to representation submitted by Vice Chairman & Member Secretary, CSFCC-2018, Pasighat which was rejected by the government, Dy. Commissioner directed the concerned authorities or members of CSFCC not to conduct/draw the lucky gift coupon/tambola within the district while also directing the Superintendent of Police, East Siang district to implement the order and stop the proposed gambling.
Meanwhile, the All Bogong Students’ Union (E) which has been fighting tooth & nail against rampant gambling menace in the district in one or other forms, once again strongly appealed to the Dy. Commissioner to ensure the  ban on any form of gambling in the district.
