PASIGHAT, Apr 24: Pasighat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) and various other organisations have come forward to supplement East Siang district’s Covid-19 pandemic fightback efforts.
Represented by its President Kojum Koyu, Secretary Group Captain (VM Rtd) M. Panging Pao and member DD Industries Matsam Jamoh, PCCI gave a donation worth Rs. 1 lakh to Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh on April-23. Official sources informed that Mirku Dolung Kebang donated Rs. 57,100, Siang Model School Rs. 10,000, Central Donyi Polo Yelam Kebang Rs. 50,000 to the DC’s Relief Fund, while the teachers of Daying Ering Memorial UPS, Pasighat handed over five hundred masks to ADC (Hq) Tatdo Borang.
Meanwhile, DTO (MV) M. Loyi informed that East Siang DA has realized a fine of Rs. 11,250 on the first day the penalty directive came into force for not maintaining social distancing, spitting in public places and roaming without masks. Over the last few days, police had checked many vehicles and challaned about 17,000 till date for traffic violations and not maintaining the lockdown guidelines. DC Dr. Singh appreciated the generosity of all contributors.
“Let’s fight coronavirus together and make a difference not only by maintaining social distancing but also caring for the less privileged,” she stated and informed that industries would be allowed to run in stages and administration would permit commencement of operations with internal workers only by maintaining social distancing and other laid down protocols.
