PASIGHAT, Dec 11: The seven-day long State Level U-17 Kho-Kho Championship which saw participation of 21 districts of the state concluded successfully today here at the outdoor stadium.
In Boys Category final played between East Siang and East Kameng, the former emerged as champion, while in the Girls Category, Lohit district clinched the Winner’s Trophy by defeating Lower Subansiri. The winning teams will now represent the state at the National School Games under the aegis of School Games Federation. 
Secretary Education & WCD Niharika Rai, who was the Chief Guest said that enthusiasm shown by the young players to take up Kho-Kho will go a long way in its promotion and popularity and commended the efforts of the Kho-Kho Association of  Arunachal Pradesh (KKAP) and its district unit East Siang Kho-Kho Association in promoting the traditional sport and thanked the District Administration for their support. She also encouraged the players to take the game seriously since it has been recognized by the state government and Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, GoI. Guest of Honour, DC East Siang Dr. Kinny Singh also lauded the sporting excellence and sportsmanship displayed by the contingents and assured continued support of the DA.

Sporting icon, Gumpe Rime was also present among a host of invitees on the occasion. DIPRO
