Itanagar, Dec 20: The revamped e-Ticketing web portal of Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services was inaugurated today by Transport Minister Nakap Nalo in presence of General Manager, Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS) Abu Tayeng and other officials.
Making the inauguration, Transport Minister emphasised on strengthening the network connectivity and ICT infrastructure in all district headquarters of the state to reap the actual benefits of online e-Ticketing. As a part of inauguration, he booked the first ticket for the Itanagar-Shillong route through the web portal and congratulated the State Transport Services team. He also made special mention of NIC-Uttarakhand who has developed the e-Ticketing portal in collaboration with NIC Arunachal Pradesh. During the event, State Informatics Officer of NIC-Uttarakhand K. Narayanan was also connected through video conferencing. General Manager, APSTS explained the efforts and roadmap undertaken by the department and NIC to launch the portal, adding that with digitization, there will be greater transparency and accountability on the part of department. Minister to visit Arunachal to study the terrain difficulties in implementation of the project in remote districts.
