Panchayat election conducted smoothly across Keyi Panyor
ITANAGAR, Dec 17: The Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh today chaired a comprehensive review meeting on the Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening of Transmission and Distribution System (CSST and DS) in Arunachal Pradesh.
During the meeting, key milestones achieved under the scheme were reviewed, including the commissioning of several transmission and distribution assets, completion of priority transmission lines, and resolution of long pending infrastructure challenges. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the coordinated efforts of the department, contractors, and field teams in successfully overcoming difficult terrain and logistical constraints.
Major achievements under the scheme so far include the commissioning of eight 132 by 33 kV substations with associated transmission lines at Dukumpani, Seppa, Holongi, Yachuli, Basar, Napit, Niglok, and Khonsa. In addition, twelve significant 33 by 11 kV substations with associated lines have been commissioned at AP Secretariat and IG Park Naharlagun, Doimukh, Hapoli, Igo, Ruksin, Oyan, AITF 5th Mile Pasighat, Napit, Mebo, Ngopok, and Simari.
The meeting also took note of the notification of the Special Ex Gratia Relief Package towards Right of Way for 132 kV transmission lines passing through Reserve Forest areas under the CSST and DS AP Amendment Policy 2025. Further, a long-standing boundary stalemate involving the 132 kV KolaptukarLikabali transmission line with the State of Assam has been successfully resolved, paving the way for smooth execution of the project.
The Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the valuable inputs and active participation of Ministers, MLAs, local representatives, and the district administration, stating that such collective engagement is crucial to ensure timely and effective implementation of projects on the ground.
He said that with commissioning of 2000 MW Lower SubansiriHyropower Projects and many other hydropower projects in the line, it is essential to lay the transmission line first, so that the power generated through these hydropower projects are evacuated as soon as after commissioning. He urged Power Grid Corporation of India to priorities those transmission lines and complete in stipulated time.
Reiterating the State Government’s commitment, he emphasized that the focus remains firmly on strengthening power connectivity, ensuring reliable and quality electricity supply, and supporting inclusive development across
both urban centres and remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh. He noted that reliable power is not only a basic necessity but also a foundation for education, healthcare, livelihoods, industrial growth, and overall economic development.
Stressing the importance of clear timelines, accountability, and continuous monitoring, he directed all stakeholders to maintain momentum and proactively address bottlenecks so that the benefits of these investments reach every household.
He thanked all stakeholders for their commitment and cooperation and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to build a stronger and more resilient power network for Arunachal Pradesh through steady progress and clear priorities.
