CHANGLANG, Feb 12: Deputy Speaker APLA, Tesam Pongte, spearheaded a series of landmark inaugurations today across Changlang district.
Earlier on the day,Pongte inaugurated the vital water augmentation project at Simnom village, executed by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) under the esteemed Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). This project, catering to 11 households, signifies a pivotal step in addressing the essential need for improved water supply infrastructure.
Continuing the commitment to enhancing educational facilities, Deputy Speaker Pongte unveiled a state-of-the-art G+1 RCC classroom at Government Middle School, Phangtip. This endeavor, meticulously executed by the Rural Works Department (RWD), reflects the government's unwavering dedication to providing quality learning environments for the youth.
A journey into the heart of nature ensued as officials and community leaders embarked on a captivating trek to inaugurate the Waisok Sum Salt Well. Nestled amidst serene surroundings, this natural reserve has been preserved for generations and is now poised to emerge as a premier eco-tourism destination, with newly constructed concrete steps ensuring accessibility from the main road.
Pongte further inaugurated a new general ground at Yatdam and the Yangkang Children's Park, projects envisioned by the Yangkang Development Committee and executed by the Urban Development Department (UD). These initiatives underscore the government's commitment to fostering recreational spaces and promoting community engagement.
The inauguration ceremony was also accompanied by the ADC Changlang, Marpe Riba, Circle Officer Dr. Ripi Doni, ZPM Yatdam, Kapseng Khungkh, alongside heads of executing departments and prominent public figures from the circle.
