ITANAGAR, Aug 31: Two gangs  that were peddling huge quantities of heroines and other banned drugs to Itanagar from Assam was busted after a series of raids conducted,” Police said on Saturday. 
The accused were identified as Moon Das and Birkushi, a native of Kamrup Assam and Gautam Das of Dharampur, District Morigoan, Assam. 
The arrest was made by a team comprising, SI R.K Jha, OC PS Banderdewa with support of four police personnel under the active supervision of SP Capital, and SDPO, Naharlagun, R Kamsi.
A   PS Case No- 020/2019 U/S-22 NDPS Act has been registered in this regard.
In a separate incident, police said they cracked another drug distribution racket on Friday when a piece of information was received from reliable sources that some drug peddlers were ferrying Narcotic Drugs in one Scorpio for consumption in Itanagar area.
Following the information, Naka at Banderdewa gate was immediately alerted and the Scorpio driven by one Ligam Sora accompanied by Budak Ramching was intercepted. The police recovered the contraband drugs. 
Furthermore, when interrogated, the duo revealed that they had purchased the drugs from one Rajiv Doley of Banderdewa, Assam and after rigorous efforts, the kingpin of this racket Doley was apprehended. The police recovered brown sugar from Doley during the raid.
The Trio is currently under police custody and their vehicle has been seized.
A case under Banderdewa PS Case No- 021/2019 U/S-22/27 NDPS Act has been registered in this regard.
