MAHADEVPUR, Feb 6: Acting on a tip off, Mahadevpur Police apprehended three drugs peddlers from Police Checkgate, Dirak under Namsai district.
The arrested have been identified as Budista Chakma ,Sumitra Chakma of Dumpathar,Diyun Circle and Krishna Shah of Doomdoma,Assam, informed Officer In-charge Police station Mahadevpur, Lod Tari.
The arrested peddlers were on police radar for quite some time and with the tip-off, team of police lead by OC Lod Tari, ASI Vijay Kumar, Head Constables DK, Singh,JP Tiwari,AK Singh, Constable CM Mein under the supervision of Deputy SP Sepraj Perme arrested them while they were trying to smuggle drugs from Tinsukia,Assam to Diyun,Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Police has recovered drugs, probably brown sugar worth 4 to 5 Lakh. A case Under Section 21 (C) NDPS Act has been registered in Police station Mahadevpur .
