Roing, Sep 16: Roing Police scripted success in its efforts against drug trafficking as arrest of one drug peddler also led to the nabbing of two more and recovery of contraband items in all the operations.
Miding Passing of Meka, Roing was the first to be arrested on September 14 last that resulted in seizure of 70 grams of suspected brown sugar by the Roing Police team led by Deputy SP Tab Techi, Inspector N.Sora and SI S.S Jha accompanied by CO Hage Atho. The arrest was the outcome of the tracking mechanism set by Anti-Drug Squad of Roing which revealed that an Assam based drug supplier was supplying narcotics to Passing. The team tracked him after learning that he was coming to Meka with a package that had been delivered in Assam and was eventually apprehended from his residence with the drugs before he could sell them.
A case vide Roing PS Case No-61/2019 u/s 21(b) NDPS Act has been registered. Meanwhile, continuing with the investigation in the said case, Anti-drug Squad further nabbed two other peddlers Biju Mega and Annu Rimey and seized around 30 grams of suspected brown sugar from their possession.
Lower Dibang Valley SP Sanjay Kumar Sain while congratulating the team, reiterated the resolve to make the district drug free and added that till now around 100 grams of suspected brown sugar had been recovered from the three peddlers and efforts are also on to apprehend the main supplier from Assam.
