ITANAGAR, Oct 9: The district administration capital complex continued with the eviction drive of stray animals at various locations of Itanagar including Raj Bhavan area today. Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan has time and again requested the denizens to cooperate with the DA and refrain from letting animals out in the open which results in various nuisance like traffic problems, unhygienic atmosphere etc.
The DC informed that the DA will continue with the drive while also observing Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate had also issued an order wherein he had directed all concerned to confine their domesticated animals by September 27.
Combining all the earlier drives, a total of around 89 animals have been evicted till date.
