DAPORIJO, Dec 18: The District Planning Committee meeting for the approval of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2019-20, Upper Subansiri District, was held here on Monday chaired by Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf.
The GDDP which is a comprehensive participatory planning process to draw gram panchayat plan 2019-20 was rolled out as ‘Sabka Yojana Sabka Vikas’ on  October 2 and will culminate on December 31. It took a massive effort to draw the plan for all 148 GPs of the district which are mostly remote and inaccessible. During the process a mammoth total of 444 Gram Sabhas were held in the district involving massive human resources.
The BDO-cum-Block Nodal Officers (GPDP) of all CD-Blocks placed the approved GPDP 2019-20 before the DPC for its formal approval. As a result, a total of 2895 schemes related to 29 subjects under 18 departments listed in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution, were approved by the DPC, which shall be further uploaded in the Plan Plus portal of GPDP before  December 31.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the concerted efforts of DRDA officers, BDOs and the facilitators for successfully carrying out the campaign despite physical and financial hurdles.
The meeting was attended by all HoDs, members of the District Planning and Interim Committee, chairmen of Block Interim Committees, member secretaries, BDOs, DRDA officers, the District and Block facilitators (GPDP), etc.
