ITANAGAR/PASIGHAT, Nov 23: An iconic Donyi Polo Kumkho (common prayer hall) for believers of Donyi Polo would be constructed at Pasighat to preserve, protect and revive the dying indigenous faith and belief of the Tani tribe.
Announcing this in a press conference today, Chairman, Donyi Polo Cultural and Charitable Trust (DPCCT) Katung Waghe divulged that the endeavour is in continuance with the efforts of Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh ( IF&CSAP) to save the region’s ancient culture and traditions. 
The foundation stone laying ceremony of the building will be held on December 1 on the occasion of Indigenous Faith Day celebration. It is pertinent to mention that Pasighat is the birthplace of Talom Rukbo, who is the crusader of the indigenous faith movement in Arunachal. 
“The DPCCT is constituted with an effort to promote, protect and preserve the indigenous faith for posterity and the prayer hall is a part of our mission,” Waghe added. He also said that the prayer hall would have a commonplace of worship for all the indigenous traditional deities of the state such as Rangfra of Tangsha and Tutsa, Nani Itaya of Idu Mishmi, Amik Mitai of Diagru and Miju Nyezino of Hurrusso Aka, etc.
Meanwhile, the trust also informed about its future plan to open an educational institution, same as that of the ancient Gurukul system of imparting traditional knowledge and education wherein students will be facilitated with the ambiance of traditional indigenous ways of life in addition to modern education in line with CBSE. Students in the institution will be taught all the traditional values, hymns and hymns of the priests. In addition to serving as a prayer hall, it will also act as an institution to throw light and promote research on the state's Donny Polo faith and allied rituals in the centurion town.  
7th  Kybje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche and 6th Kybze Yongzin ling R Tingpoche, the main spiritual adviser of his holiness, 14 the Dalai Lama will grace the foundation laying ceremony as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
