ITANAGAR, Mar 8: Despite relief from National Commission for Women to Chief Minister Pema Khandu on rape allegations, the woman complainant has lodged a fresh FIR in Police station Tawang alleging incumbent Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his three other colleagues  Phurpa Lama, Thupten Tashi and Dorjee Wangchu for gang raping her in July 2008.

Addressing media person at press club today, the woman said ‘I want to clarify that I have no political background nor am I doing this under pressure from other political party or any organization. I am also not doing it to earn money but to seek justice for myself.’

She further added ‘I am not complaining against the Chief Minister but a man who raped me along with his two male friends.’

While disclosing more on the issue, she  stated  ‘Since the day of the incident in Tawang, I had tried all options to lodge a complaint but the accused intimidated me with dire consequences if I try to tell about the incident to anyone or lodge complaint against them claiming to have connection with top officials. Not only this, they  had frequently threatened me and monitored my every move creating fear-psychosis   for me in Tawang and in Itanagar.’

Further reacting to the State BJP press statement, she clarified that she lodged complaint not against any party’s leader nor against a Chief Minister but against those culprits who raped her.

‘I also had lodged complaint before Police station Itanagar on 23/12/2015 and accordingly Women Police station submitted a report dated 13/1/2016 on GDE No. 33/2015 to SP Capital Complex for transferring the same FIR copy to OC Police station Tawang but it was never registered in Tawang. I also want to disclose that I had never been called by magistrate or Police   authority to record my statement till date,’ she added in her written statement.

‘Recently, I have been slapped with a Rs 10 Crore defamation suit by one of the accused who happened to be Chief Minister of our state for damaging his reputation and giving mental agony. But here I want to ask, what about my reputation and mental agony that I have been going through for last 10 years?’ she questioned.

When asked about her next move for justice, she said politics is being played by all the accused that’s why the copy of NCW was leaked in social media before it was officially handed over to her.

‘So,  if the said person who is now a Chief Minister believes that  he is not guilty or that I am  dragging his name to earn money or something,  then I am ready to face highest traditional test. Such test should be in public places and in presence of general public to unearth the truth,’ she asserted.
