ITANAGAR, Jan 30: Mayor Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), Tamme Passang today kicked off the football matches that is being organized to mark the 5th Edition of FIT India week celebration at Dera Natung College in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India.
The Mayor, emphasized the importance of teachers and parents' involvement in helping their children develop healthy habits and urged them to become more involved in order to foster their positive wellbeing.
Emphasizing the idea that healthy living should be a part of our lifestyle, the Mayor said, one should be fit first and then create awareness amongst others.
Earlier, Principal DNGC, MQ Khan while sharing a brief background of FIT India Mission, stressed on the importance of adapting healthy lifestyles and eating habits and encouraged to participate in more activities as they could lengthen life span.
He asserted that the school faculty should inculcate more physical activities in the curriculum so as to improve their academic potential and build a healthy body.
The football matches were played between NSS Girls vs NCC Girls and NSS Boys vs NCC Boys.
Inkamlak Newmai,Central Incharge SAI, Training Centre Naharlagun, faculty members, students and participants from NSS and NCC were present at the programme.
