3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth

ITANAGAR, Nov 14: The Department of Economics, Dera Natung Government College in collaboration with the Jadavpur Association of International Relations (JAIR), Kolkata is organizing a two-day national seminar titled “Act East through North East India: Way to a new era of diplomacy” at the college campus from November 15.
Academicians, scholars and researchers from different streams from across the country are expected to take part in the seminar.
Announcing this in a press conference here today, DNGC Principal Dr. N T Rikam informed that various sessions including a special session on Arunachal Pradesh is arranged in the two day-long session.
He further said that observations made in the seminar will be submitted to the Union Ministry of Cultural Affairs for publishing it into two volumes.
“Ever since our late prime minister Narasimha Rao initiated the 'Look East policy' which was later transformed by PM Narendra Modi to 'Act East' policy, there have been continuous efforts to make the policy a result-oriented and practical one," said JAIR General Secretary Dr Imankalyan Lahiri. Sessions on various emerging issues will be simultaneously held in the two-day long seminar, he added.
DNGC, HoD (Economics), Dr. Ramakrishan Mandal said that the seminar will help the Central government to have a better understanding of the socio-economic condition of the Northeastern states so as to initiate measures for speedy development of the region effectively. Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University, Professor Saket Kushwaha will attend as the chief guest on the inaugural day of the programme and Governor BD Mishra at the valedictory function on Friday.
