Itanagar, Jan 31: Dera Natung Government College Itanagar and Assam Downtown University Guwahati jointly organised North East Educators’ Conclave on “National Education Policy (NEP) and its implementation” Itanagar Chapter on Wednesday at DNGCI. The purpose of the conclave was to bring together notable Arunachal Pradesh educators for a thought-provoking interaction about National Education Policy 2020, the contemporary educational system, its implementation, and challenges. 
Dr. M.Q. Khan, Principal of Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar in his address as the chief guest presented the gist of beneficial aspects of NEP-2020. He appreciated the NEP-2020 for its innovative structure, multi entry- exit; flexibility, vocational and value added courses and learner’s friendly approach. However, he pleaded for English as medium of instruction at higher education level. ‘’English is the language of opportunities and employment and that India is the biggest exporter of human resources largely because of English medium at Higher & Technical Education level’’. He said. Fr. Jose George, the Principal of Don Bosco College Jollang speaking as special guest highlighted the practical relevance as well as challenges of NEP-2020. Dr. Rajiv Sharma, a professor at Assam Downtown University's Department of Science and Biotechnology, gave a keynote address through a powerpoint presentation. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Ratna Tayeng Head Department of Anthropology, Ms. Geyir Ete, Asstt Professor of Commerce, Ms. Priyanka Dutta Asstt Professor of Botany at DNGC and Mr. Animesh from Assam Downtown University and attended by over a hundred faculty members from various educational institutions of the Itanagar capital region and Doimukh.
