ITANAGAR, Apr 7: Hundreds of former students  of Dera Natung Government College participated in the Alumni meet 2018 held here today at the college auditorium. Alumnus and incumbent MLA Nampong Laisam Simai and former student cum BJP Vice President (State) Tame Phassang attended the Alumni meets as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.

Addressing the gathering, BJP Vice President Tame Phassang extended gratitude to the organizing committee for hosting the event that creates a platform to meet former colleagues and faculty. He also thanked the faculty members for their contribution to shape the future of the college as well as the students.

Tame further credited the college for producing successful personalities who are now serving in different capacities. He also assured the College all possible help for all round development.

Terming the event as reminiscence of his days at the college, MLA Simai narrated his story of joining the college hailing from remote Changlang district.

‘I am from a poor background and my parents had no money to bear my college fees but the determination to study had brought me here,’ he said while appealing the youths not to lose hope but be determined.
