PASIGHAT, Jun 26: The District Medical Officer, East Siang today clarified after an official letter circulating in social media which was leaked from unknown sources caused panic and concern amongst the people, that a person has fled quarantine facility.
It may be mentioned that the incident was reported by the contact tracing team immediately. DMO has informed that the said inmate was immediately put back by the contact tracing team and samples of all primary contacts, who were also put in separate QF were collected and run through True-Nat machine, which were found negative.
FIR has been lodged against the violator. The person, a returnee from Guwahati, was shifted to Covid Hospital immediately on receipt of Covid-Positive report.  DMO has appealed public not to panic adding that the situation was handled immediately then and there. DIPRO
