Yupia, Feb 6: Continuing with its legal awareness outreach efforts, District Legal Services Authority, Papum Pare under the chairmanship of District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA Nani Grayu today organised a day-long Free Legal Awareness Camp cum Free Legal Counselling coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Boori Boot Yullo festival at Nyokum Niya Ground, Nirjuli.
A team of legal aid advocates and para legal volunteers provided free legal counselling and information regarding availability of free legal services, various schemes and activities available for citizens through the legal services stall. Brochures on subjects such as Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme, Para Legal Volunteers Scheme, Legal Aid Clinic, Lok Adalat, Women’s Rights against domestic violence, Child Rights, Fundamental Rights, 'Access to Justice for All' under Legal Services Authority Act, 1987 and Plea Bargaining were distributed to nearly 90 visitors who visited the stall during the festival.
Encouraged with the success which has seen active participation of Legal Aid Counsels & Para Legal Volunteers, the District Legal Services Authority has further decided to open more such stalls in all major festivals of the state to spread legal awareness among common people. APSLSA PR
