BOLENG, Sep 20: A meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee for Siang District was held today at Boleng under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Siang Rajeev Takuk for implementation of Mission Organic Value Chain Development in Siang District. The meeting was attended by the DHO, DAH&VO, DDA, ADO, AFA and Service Providers.
While addressing the meeting, the DC directed all members to develop a suitable road map for the project and to adhere to the set timelines. While stating that the project could go a long way in helping realise the government's objective of doubling farmers income, he urged all concerned departments to coordinate and to work in tandem to yield optimum results.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director Agriculture, Boleng, Balung Mengu highlighted the importance of organic farming for the environment as well as for the economic well being of the farmers.
