Aalo, Jul 3: The District Tourism Society of West Siang under the aegis of Arunachal Tourism Society has decided to inspect all existing tourism assets at Liromoba, Yomcha, Lebok in Kamba, Jini, Lite Boje and explore other places where tourism amenities can be created.
The decision was taken in a meeting held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, West Siang. While stressing on leasing the assets to individuals and groups who can manage and maintain them in a proper way for the larger interests of tourists and revenue generation for the government, DC also stressed on handing such assets to Women Self Help Groups on trial basis with necessary training. She also desired that Tribal Writing Competition on different places of tourist interests be conducted with cash awards to explore potential sites for exposure and future development. The Society will visit all non-functional assets and work out modalities to utilize these assets.
District Tourism Officer Rita Yorung gave details of all leased out, functional and non-functional assets under Tourism Department in the district. Members of society also spoke on adventure tourism activities at Kabu, Paya and Logum Jini. DIPRO
