Tawang, Feb 28: A two-day district level training on House Listing, Housing Census and updation of National Population Register under Census of India 2021 began today at the Conference Hall of DC Tawang.
The training is being imparted by Deputy Registrar General Census Bharati Chanda & Statistical Inspector (Gd-I) Mridul Das and is being attended by all Charge Officers and Technical Assistants of Tawang district.  
I/c DC Tawang Lobsang Tsering urged all stakeholders to take the training seriously since census works are highly important and on many occasions officials can face people’s non-cooperation. Deputy Registrar General gave the historical background of Census in India dating back to the British era and informed that the current one will be the 8th Census since independence. She added that it will be one of the largest administrative exercise, even larger than general elections. DIPRO
