Yupia, Feb 12: Department of Agriculture Papum Pare district conducted a two-day programme on the theme ‘District Level Exhibition cum Sale Expo of Agriculture and Horticulture Products’ at Laptap village of Sagalee Sub-Division on February 11-12.
Conducted in collaboration with Arunachal Farmers’ Producer Cooperative Society Ltd Laptap, the programme was participated by various SHGs, Farmers’ Clubs, progressive farmers and a host of officers and officials of the Agri and allied departments. 
Attending the programme as Chief Guest, Director Agriculture Anong Lego lauded the farmers for their hard work in improving the rural economy and advised them to get maximum benefits from the extension functionaries of the Agri and allied sectors by constantly keeping in contact with them for getting inputs on latest farming technologies. He also requested the extension agents of the these departments of the district to work in tandem and with zeal and so that the goal of doubling farmers’ income can be reached. He further emphasized on the importance of conducting such programmes which will give the farmers opportunity to showcase their produces and attract buyers from both outside and within the state. 
Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Papum Pare Karsingsa Dr Bangkang Perme, DDA(Dev.), Directorate of Agriculture, Naharlagun T.D. Neckom and District Horticulture Officer, Papum Pare district Chukhu Kapa shared their experiences and gave valuable advices to the farmers on topics such as plant diseases & pest management, irrigation management, marketing management of farm produces etc. DIPRO
