ITANAGAR, Apr 4: District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) Yupia, Tsering Youngzam was found dead here at her ESS Sector residence bathroom at around 11.30 pm on Friday.    
Speaking to this daily, SDPO-Itanagar Kamdam Sikom informed that Youngzam had purportedly committed suicide at her residence and the case is under investigation and the true reason of the death can be ascertained only after receiving the final Post Mortem (PM) report. “As of now an Unnatural Death (UD) case has been filed and police can come to the conclusion whether it was purely a suicide or it’s a case of poisoning or anything else after more official investigation,” he added. He also informed that PM of the body was done on Saturday and her body has been handed over to relatives.
“I am not sure about the resignation letter which is doing rounds on social media. But yes, according to the family members’ statements, Youngzom was tensed due to work load and was contemplating writing a resignation letter to the Deputy Commissioner,” SDPO said when questioned about the resignation letter. Sikom informed that based on preliminary investigation, Youngzom was found to be a sincere and hardworking officer and was involved in working against the spread of Covid-19 pandemic along with the District Administration of Papum Pare.
Youngzom(38) was married and a mother too. Her husband is out of the station and could not be contacted for details.
