ITANAGAR, Aug 1: Irked by the dilapidated condition of the Highway from Itanagar to Hollongi, local people of the area has appealed the Highway administration and state government to renovate and maintain the four lane road on this stretch in the greater interest of the commuters.
Social worker Chapo Bagang informed that there have been several landslides over this stretch of road due to heavy downpour but the administration and the department concerned is still neglecting the issue. But the said road connects the state capital to other several parts of Papum Pare district like Balijan and Taraso circles as well as Assam, he added.
A local of Hollongi said that a JCB and a Tipper have been engaged but they are not capable as the landslides are continuing and there is a need for deployment of more men and machinery.
