Roing, Jun 27: A coordination meeting for reviewing preparedness of tackling monsoon related diseases and implementation of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight(IDCF) in Lower Dibang Valley district was conducted today attended by the District Level Coordination Committee on IDCF, District Task Force on Immunisation and District Quality Assurance Committee.
ADC Tapik Pertin, DMO Dr. R. Tatan, DDSE Ego Doye, representatives of WCD & PHE departments, Programme Officers and MOs of the district attended the programme. ADC while highlighting that contaminated water is one of the main cause of spread of diseases during monsoon, advised the departments to spread necessary awareness in this regard. He also emphasised on the need to provide clean water to schools where it is essential for sanitation purposes and cooking of mid-day meals.
DMO and DRCHO Dr. Raju Mena gave overview of IDCF, Rota Virus Vaccine introduction under routine immunisation programme and functions of the District Quality Assurance Committee. DRCHO explained the activities to be undertaken during IDCF which will include distribution of ORS sachets and awareness creation campaigns for all families with children under 5 years of age, IPC activities on sanitation & hygiene, hand washing demonstrations in schools etc. DIPRO
