ITANAGAR, Mar 9:A meeting was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan with all the Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris of the capital to honour their contribution to society and to better coordination between the administration and the local bodies. As a mark of respect, the DC also distributed red coats to them.

During the meeting, the DC discussed various issues pertaining to their office. Highlighting the importance of their role towards development of society, the DC asked them to work in coordination with the District Administration and that all support and cooperation would be provided by the DA. He informed that all the pending honorariums would be released soon and assured that the DA would ensure timely release of the honorariums from now onwards.

The DC also informed that the much needed Mel House is also coming up at Naharlagun soon.

General Secretary All Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris Association, Tache Lombi thanked the DC and expressed happiness that it has been a long time since any DC had called them for a meeting. When briefed about the vacant post of Gaon Buras in some areas, the DC assured that appointment would be done soon. The General Secretary also apprised the DC about the nuisance of stray animals to which the DC assured to take necessary action.

Earlier, Tame Yajum while welcoming all briefed about the purpose of the meeting and dwelt on the importance of their role.
