KHONSA, Oct 11: Director General of Police R.P Upadhyaya on his second day visit at Tirap district held a review meeting on security matters ahead of the bye-election to the Khonsa West AC.
During the high-level meeting with senior officers from Assam Rifles, CRPF and other forces, there were discussions on deployment of forces, security of candidates, intelligence inputs etc. Later the DGP also interacted with both the contesting candidates and ensured them a free and fair poll process. While interacting with the Gaon Burahs, he stated that being the eyes & ears of the administration they should come forward and share important information with the SP and DC pertaining to security.
Further, he exhorted all stakeholders to cooperate during the poll process. “Through your active support and participation we will redeem the image of Arunachal as an island of peace,” DGP asserted.
