ROING, Oct 6: The art of balancing the duty of the police force and the community and its expectation is being done very well by the police force in Lower Dibang Valley district, praised DGP SBK Singh while addressing the felicitation programme organised by the district police today. He said that this has been possible only because the people and the police force have decided to work together unitedly.
Stating prevention and detection of crime, maintaining law and order and to build a bridge between the police and public to win their trust, as duties of the police, the DGP said that the last point has been amply displayed by the activities of the police in the district which has resulted in an environment of peace and harmony.
The DGP also informed about the proposal for fire stations at Parbuk and Dambuk, which has been placed before the government and for the Shantipur check gate to be made a police station, which would be fulfilled after the recruitment of personnel in the department.
MLA (Roing), Mutchu Mithi, speaking on the occasion, said that a person normally goes to the police station to register complaints or on being summoned but the Roing Police has achieved exceptional results in bringing the force closer to the public through its sensitizing activities.
Development can happen only when an environment of peace and harmony prevails in a place and the police force has worked hard in maintaining law and order and bringing peace to the area, said Mithi.
Dr. Sushi Singh (ex-officio Chief Advisor, APPWS) appreciated all for sensitising the public about the police and their work and said that there was a vision for a model district and the Lower Dibang Valley district has shown itself to be a model district. She further said that nothing can happen without passion and this passion has been channelised very well in the district by the SP and police force here.
She also spoke about the Arunachal Pradesh Police Welfare Society(APPWS), its aims and objectives and activities being initiated for the empowerment of youth and families through education, talent spotting and skill development. 'Dare to dream and with your passion and determination, you can achieve it', was her message to the children present.
Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom acknowledged the contributions of the police force and thanked them for maintaining law and order in the district.
SP SK Sain briefed the gathering about the achievements of the police force in the district and informed about the start of mobile patrolling motorcycles in Roing and other future endeavours.
DSP Opir Paron, Nagrik Bhaichara Samity members Raja Linggi and Starson Saring also spoke on the occasion. The day saw the felicitation of teams of Operation Kalapani, Operation Jamupani and Operation Kundil River undertaken in the district in the past. The mobile patrolling motorcycles unit was flagged off on the day and the renovated APP Balwadi School was also inaugurated.
In attendance during the programme were MLA Dambuk Gum Tayeng, DIGP Mari Riba, representatives of the armed forces and paramilitary forces, heads of departments, families of police personnel, students and well wishes.
