ITANAGAR, Dec 13:   Despite continued assurance by the capital district administration and the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on sufficient fuel stock for the capital complex, long queues could be seen in most of the petrol pumps in the capital on Sunday.
‘After waiting almost four hours in a queue I got my turn to refuel my car,’ said a resident at a pump located at Chimpu.
Another person at the Ganga fuel station said that he had to wait an entire day for his turn. He also expressed concerned over the distribution of fuel in bottles and gallons despite prohibitory order from the administration. 'I have noticed that many people come with bottles and gallons breaking the queue to get fuel.’
Earlier, IOC Area Sales Officer, Tage Nobin reassured that there is nothing to panic as there is sufficient stock of petrol and diesel. 'As of now, nine tankers have dispatched from Emchi depot and the fuel is being distributed to various retail depots of capital complex,' Nobin added.
The district administration has also issued an order urging people not to panic and believe in rumours about  shortage of POL. In its order, the DA said that IOCL depot in Emchi, Doimukh has sufficient stock to cater  to central Arunachal Pradesh including the Capital Complex.
