AALO, Jun 10:The District Education Society under the chairmanship of  West Siang Deputy Commissioner had a thread barel discussion regarding various proposals and schemes to be taken up from flexible pool of resources under Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksha Yojana for improvement of schools and colleges in the district on June 8 last.

The DC disclosed that this corpus fund is meant for maintaining critical infrastructure gap, procurement of furniture, electrical wirings, toilets, procurement of library books, learning materials and mitigate need 
based materials for the schools in a transparent and targeted manner. She laid stress on school specific schemes basing on comprehensive exercise to locate the needy schools authenticated by photographs before and after completion of works and attention should be given to upgraded schools that struggle for facilities. Few model schools should be prioritised under this scheme and handpicking only few schools for civil works under the programme will not be allowed under this scheme, she said.

The West Siang DDSE, dwelt at length on guidelines as enshrined in CMSSY and placed various proposals under the decentralized fund to be made available to the district. The other members of the District Level Executive Committee also gave their fruitful suggestions.

Under this scheme, a total allocation to the tune of Rs. 100 crore will be placed for 23 districts of the state each district getting almost Rs. 4 crores.
