ITANAGAR, May 8: Rich tributes were paid to renowned social worker and former Education Minister, Dera Natung on his 18th death anniversary by the faculty and students of Dera Natung Government College here today.
DNGC Principal Dr. N.T Rikam in his address recalled the contribution of Natung towards society and said that Late Natung was an illustrious personality endowed with qualities of a great leader, social worker and above all a good human being. He appealed the youth to emulate the late leader's ideals and principles which are based on simplicity, perseverance and dedication.
Senior BJP leader and DNGC alumni, Vijay Sonam in his address attributed Natung for bringing a lot of reformation in society especially in the education sector.
Later a plantation programme was also organized wherein large number of students participated and planted saplings around the college campus. Renowned artist Taba Yall Nabam also spoke on the occasion.
