ITANAGAR, May 8: Former Education Minister of the state, late Dera Natung was remembered on his 17th death anniversary today at DN government college with Parliamentary Secretary for RD, Panchayati Raj and IPR, Mama Natung along with college authorities paying floral tributes to the late leader.
Recalling the contribution of the former Minister, Mama Natung asserted that late Dera was focused on improving the state’s education sector as according to him education is the only mantra to bring change in society.
‘He was on his way to lay foundation stone of EMI school at Bana in East Kameng and on site visit for a school at Rupa in West Kameng when the unfortunate incident occurred and we lost a visionary leader,’ recalled Mama Natung.
The Parliamentary Secretary further advised the people especially the youth to adopt good practices and to focus on their academic career to achieve their goal as well as to carry forward the message of the late leader.
Responding on a one point memorandum submitted by the college principal, Dr. NT Rikam on the Dera Natung memorial lecture series, Parliamentary Secretary has assured to look into the matter.
Among others, All India Mahila Congress General Secretary, Jarjum Ete, faculty members, members of Nyishi Elite Society, Ningee Natung Moya and Tacha Welfare Society (NNMTWS) residing in the capital complex also paid floral tributes.
