ITANAGAR, May 9: The mobile inspection team (MIT) of the department of legal metrology and consumer affairs, Naharlagun conducted surprise inspection of petrol pumps in and around the capital complex today.

Twenty numbers of dispensing pumps of five agencies have been test checked with the help of field test measures kits to ascertain accuracy of delivery. All the pumps were found giving delivery of petrol and diesel within prescribed limit of tolerance except for two units. The owners of the two pumps were asked to refrain from using the pumps till rectification.

 The MIT was led by Daro Marbom DCLM (HQ) along with senior officers of the department.

The Controller Legal Metrology & CA, Hoktum Ori asked the MIT team to conduct surprise inspections randomly throughout the year for better protection of common consumers.
