SEPPA, Jun 22: With the COVID pandemic slowing down work across sectors everywhere, the Seppa division PHE & WS department has set itself a target to complete the water supply project for East Kameng’s headquarters before the deadline.
The project is slated to be completed on March 31, 2022. However, the department has proposed to complete it before that timeframe.
This was informed to the PHE & WS department secretary, Rinchin Tashi, when he inspected the work today.
Talking to the officials, Tashi advised the field engineers to complete the project without compromising the quality of the work. The 250 mm DI pipe of 11.30 km has been completed except for one fabricated bridge for crossing water mains that has been halted due to the pandemic with most welders, masons and skilled labourers originally from outside the state.
The EE PHED, Bharat Sonam, said that pandemic has hampered the work in many ways.
Tashi later also reviewed the progress of FHTCs (Functional Household Tap Connections) in the district and directed the divisional officer to enter the details in the IMIS (Integrated Information Management System) on drinking water.
