Ziro, Mar 28: A meeting involving  election agents of all  political parties, District Election Officer(DEO) and the General Observer(GO) for Lower Subansiri district was held  today in office chamber of the DEO.
Chairing the meeting, DEO  Chukhu Takar welcomed all the political party representatives and urged them to abide by  the provisions under MCC. He further expressed hope that the ensuing elections will be free and fair without  any violence.
General Observer for Lower Subansiri, Shanavas S, IAS highlighted the guidelines under MCC and  requested for immediate intimation of any worry lists pertaining to  elections to the DEO office for redressal.
He further directed for wide circulation of the numbers of the complaint registry, monitoring room/control room and the toll free complaint number.
Taking note of use of loudspeakers etc for campaigning purpose he reiterated that  speakers should not be used from 10 pm to 6am. It should not also be used near schools and hospitals and its usage should  completely stop 48 hours prior to voting, he added.
He further called for strict adherence to the Property Defacement Act and  ensure that no handouts or any print publicity materials that incite religious sentiments are circulated.

The GO also requested the political parties to ensure minimum usage of plastic materials in all party rallies and programmes. Any violation of MCC shall be viewed very seriously and reported to ECI for further action, he stressed.

Among others, the meeting was attended by SP Dr. Hemanat Tiwari, ROs  of 16 Yachuli and 17 Ziro Hapoli  ACs and administrative officers. DIPRO
