NAHARLAGUN, Nov 27: The Nyishi Art and Culture Welfare Society (NACWS) has deeply mourned the demise of Nyishi legendary folklore music icon Sida Banor, who passed away at TRIHMS Naharlagun on Tuesday after prolonged illness. Late Banor who hailed from Raga, Kamle district was a veteran singer, a versatile artist of extraordinary ability and a creative genius who mesmerized listeners with his unique enchanting voice. Banor recorded countless songs in a career spanning over 40 years. His original song “Dangerous very dangerous” was a big hit in the late 90s among youngsters. His use of folk music with a touch of contemporary made his compositions unique in its own way, which gained him several awards, and citation including the Gold Medal (State Award) and NES award.
