ITANAGAR, May 27:
Ganesh Prasad Shukla, an AGMUT cadre IFS officer of  first batch  of 1966, who served as PCCF-cum principal secretary for a long time to carve a niche for himself in Arunachal Pradesh, passed away at Lucknow on May 18 last.
 
He is survived his wife and three daughters.
 
State’s Forest Minister Nabam Rebia, on behalf of the GoAP conveyed his deep sense of condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
 
Recalling his invaluable services to the state, present land records & sustainable development & OSD-XVFC consulting adviser, G N Sinha said that he had joined the state in 1970 and held various assignments till 1999 and finally had retired from service in 2006 from Mizoram. He had made monumental contributions in setting up of many reserved forest areas, wildlife sanctuaries and national parks besides establishing procedures and guidelines for timber operation, management and control of wood-based industries in the state.
 
He also had groomed many officers like Ram Het, Avinash Kumar,  J L Singh, G N Sinha, Ravindra Kumar, D M Shukla and always remembered as an upright and most honest officer.
