ITANAGAR, Apr 3: Inspecting Officer (IO), Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence, Group Captain P Ravi Kumar, inspected Sainik School Goalpara on April 1 and 2.
The IO reviewed a ceremonial Guard of Honour presented by 40 cadets. It was followed by inspection of classrooms, laboratories, dormitories, accounts, stores, infrastructure and other facilities in the school spread over two days. During a morning assembly he reviewed the cadets’ efficiency in public speaking and general knowledge and exhorted them to imbibe utmost discipline and remain focused on joining defence services. The school was inspected earlier by Ministry of Defence in February 2016.
In honour of the officer, a regimental lunch was also organised. During a function held in the school auditorium, he released the annual school magazine ‘The Puberun’ and also witnessed a cultural bonanza presented by cadets, staff and a cultural troupe from Dudhnoi, who showcased impressive folk dance forms of Assam. In addition, he cycled to ‘Sri Surya Pahar’ with the cadets and enjoyed the cultural richness of Assam.
The IO along with Captain (Indian Navy) Edwin Jothirajan, and Principal, called on Major General Jarken Gamlin, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC, HQ 51 Sub Area and chairman, local board of administration.
