Doimukh, Jun 21: A coordination meeting cum awareness programme on Covid-19 was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Director School Education (DDSE) Papum Pare district Tagu Tana Tara with all the Heads of Schools of Doimukh Block at the Government Middle School, Emchi on June 20 last. 
Taking part in the discussion, MLA 14-Doimukh AC Tana Hali Tara said that in the wake of the pandemic, all necessary precautionary measures are required to be taken before reopening of schools to ensure the safety of school children, teachers and staff. While urging the stakeholders to bring improvement in the academic performance of the schools, he also requested the DDSE to instruct all the Heads of Schools to create a good academic atmosphere with focus on building harmonious relationship among parents, students and teachers. Reiterating the need to create Covid awareness after reopening of schools, the MLA also announced a financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh for sanitization purposes to fight against the pandemic.
DDSE asked all the School In-charges to complete physical verification and enrolment drive in their respective schools, formulate proper plans before  reopening and work in a well-coordinated manner. Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Doimukh Mokir Kamki suggested that wearing of mask, social distancing and use of sanitizers be made mandatory in schools and requested the MLA to provide assistance in their procurement.
