Khonsa, May 24: Tirap deputy commissioner, Bhanu Prabha, visited the EAC headquarters Lazu along with the heads of various departments and administrative officers.
While addressing the public at Lazu inspection bungalow, the DC appealed all to abide by government lockdown guidelines.
She appreciated the people for extending their support in destroying poppy plants partially and urged the farming community of Lazu to shun poppy cultivation which is illegal under NDPS Act, 1985 and instead adopt crops cultivation with the help of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and Fishery departments for sustainable income source.
Further, the DC inspected various ongoing and completed works under Lazu and its surrounding specially the work at Block point of Pongkong - Barap being done by GREF, the ongoing construction of VKV, Barap and also held a meeting with teaching staff for other necessary works to be taken up for the development of the school.
Later, the DC also inspected the secondary school, EAC office, EAC residence, police station, PHC Lazu and the Anganwadi centre at Lazu. DIPRO
