ITANAGAR, May 23:The newly upgraded infrastructure of Modirijo Primary School was inaugurated today by the Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Prince Dhawan.

Emphasizing the importance of education, the DC stressed that the students are the backbone of society upon which the future of the country depends. He therefore stressed that the quality of education should not be compromised at any cost and the District Administration will give due importance for the upliftment of education in the Capital Complex. 
He informed that on his earlier visit to Modirijo, he was very disheartened at the shortage of classrooms and lack of approach road to the school.

I am therefore very happy to see the newly constructed classroom and CC stairs that will provide the students with a better atmosphere to study and will ease communication, said the DC.

He informed that the basic requirements of the school like bench, desk, white board, fan water filter etc have already been purchased and will be handed over to the school by June 15 next.

As teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the students, he requested them to teach about the menace of such habits. The DC also urged the SMC to regularly monitor the performance of the students. He also lauded them for ensuring that the work has been properly executed.

ADC Hengo Basar also stressed upon the importance of education and urged the parents to send their children to school. He also urged them to ensure that their children do not indulge in bad habits. 
SMC Chairperson Kipa Tugung thanked the DC for his initiative as the upgradation of the School has been funded by DCs untied fund which includes construction of a new classroom, approach stairs, renovation of the whole school etc. 
He also recalled how the school was first established in the area. Though Modirijo is a village under Capital, but the villagers have ensured all the basic facilities in the area like education, health etc, informed Tugung. 
Later, he also submitted a memorandum on behalf of the School Management Committee regarding various requirement of the school to which the DC assured to look into the matter. However, regarding the Link Road leading to the school, the DC assured to take up the matter with PWD. 

During the visit, the DC also interacted with the faculties of the School to get a detailed idea about the various problems faced by them. 

Modirijo Primary school has classes till class V and has a total of 101 students.
