PANGIN, Apr 12:

 

A district level consultative committee meeting of all the representatives of banks in Siang district and the chief manager, Lead Bank office, Pasighat was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Siang district, Rahul Singh at Pangin.

 

In the meeting, the DC sought an update on the implementation of various government schemes like PMEGP, SJGSY, WCC etc in the district. He also sought the status of performance of the banks in the district under the New Annual Credit Plan 2016-17. He took stock of the availability of ATMs,  POS, CSP, Treasury and Currency Chest in the district and directed the bank representatives to make available the same at the earliest. 

 

He also directed them to target optimum financial inclusion under PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY, PMMY, Digital India etc and conduct Financial Literacy Campaigns with special focus on the importance of digital transactions, opening and linking of accounts with Aadhaar throughout the district so that the customers are aware and well informed about the various banking schemes and services and can reap its maximum benefits. He further directed the bank managers not to deny opening of zero balance accounts to the customers.

 

He stated that the several Aadhaar camps being set up in the district should also be used as customer service points for account opening and dissemination of banking related information and queries.
