AALO, Apr 17: Deputy Commissioner West Siang, Swetika Sachan accompanied by DRCS Kenbi Riba, Circle Officer Omey Apang paid visit to West Siang Women Handloom and Weavers Society to take stock of the progress of work going on in its centre on Monday.
Yakar Jempen, President, Hoksum Ori Secretary and Kirken Ete Vice Chairman of the society briefed the DC about the ongoing activities and sought financial help from the DC to look into their immediate needs like showroom and a work shed.
The DC also visited the Siang Transport Cooperative Society Limited Aalo and discussed with Executive Members on issues like revival of defunct bus services, its liabilities, infrastructure needs etc of the society.
This STCS Ltd Aalo which was started in the year 1965 flourished and was the lone vibrant means of better transportation, employment and business avenues at Aalo in those days.
The DC and DRCS assured to give their full support to the society to revive the lost glory and exhorted the members of the society to work sincerely to gear up the ground works.
