YUPIA, Jun 9: In view of Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, initiative for development of Agri/Horti Farm Cluster for production of Agri/Horti crops in each Legislative Assembly Constituency, first District Empowered Committee meeting of Papum Pare District was held in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu today.
While chairing the meeting, the DC emphasized the need to practice and undertake nutritional kitchen gardens in the district. DC also directed the BDOs, DAO and DHO to consult the respective MLAs for selection of 2000 households for nutritional kitchen garden and 5 Ha. to 100 Ha. for Cluster area in the district.
Further, the DC stressed the need to select crops on the basis of soil health condition and feasible crops. "Our state has suffered badly for want of vegetables due to recent lock-down and ban on import of vegetables from neighbouring state." Papum Pare being capital district of the state, DC emphasized the need for concentrated efforts of all concerned for successful implementation of programmes in the district which should be an example for other districts.
