ITANAGAR, Jun 21:A District Level Education Society (DLES) meeting was convened today in the Conference Hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex. The meeting was chaired by DC Prince Dhawan which was attended by all the Administrative officers, all line departments besides officers from Education Department to discuss regarding the three newly launched schemes of education sector viz Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksha Yojana (CMSSY), Acharya Dronacharya Gurukul Yojana and Chief Minister’s Adhunik Pathsala Yojana.

The three schemes basically aim to improve the overall quality of education. Stressing that a hybrid model which would ensure quality education is the need of the hour, the DC further stressed that the model should include the examination system, pass percentage, teachers attendance, coordination between Principals/ headmasters and School Management Committee etc. 

The DC further stressed that all the schemes are meant for the student community and therefore there should not be any lacunae in its implementation and directed the members of the DLES to ensure the same. 

He further informed that the Capital Administration is dedicated to improve the overall education scenario and sought cooperation from everyone to revive the education system.

The DC also directed the DDSE Capital Complex Mallo Yam Gollo to ensure that there is proper advertisement regarding the objectives of the scheme and that the information regarding the same should be disseminated to the students. He further stressed that the scheme would also provide with better opportunity to the student communities and help in their academic career.

The Circle Officer Bittu Kri briefed about the three schemes, the objectives of which were thoroughly discussed during the meeting.

The main objectives of the Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksha Yojana is to provide flexible pool of resources for maintenance of government schools and colleges and bridge the critical infrastructural gap in technology and to improve the quality of education imparted in schools and colleges by giving flexible funds in the districts. Some of the works that can be taken up under CMSSY are provision of water supply, construction of toilets, classrooms, procurement of IT infrastructure like computers, printers, wifi routers, VSATs, procurement of laboratory equipments and books for library, sports infrastructure, hiring visiting faculty from outside etc.

The main objectives of Acharya Dronacharya Gurukul Yojana is to identify the intellectual students studying in government schools, to promote science subjects in the state and to promote meritorious students who wish to study outside the state and to provide mentoring to the meritorious students for excelling in their field.

The execution of the scheme will be done by the Department of Secondary Education by conducting a talent hunt examination for all APST and Non-APST students studying in Government Schools for Class VI & IX separately in Mathematics, Science and English Skills. The Top 10 (ten) students of each district will be identified in both the classes and will be awarded a merit scholarship of Rs. 2000 each per month on Direct Benefit Transfer route for 2 years. Further, the Class IX students who qualify the talent hunt will also be provided laptops under the scheme. However, the scheme is not applicable to Govt. Aided Schools, Private Schools & Central Govt. Schools like KVs & JNVs at all. 

The main objective under the Chief Minister’s Adhunik Pathsala Yojana is extension of Smart Classroom Program and development of Residential Model School.
