ROING, Oct 23: 'Help yourself by cultivating an interest in reading and studies and only then can you make something of yourself.' advised Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom (IAS) while interacting with Class IX and X students of Govt. Secondary School, Koronu, during her surprise inspection of the school today.
Teachers will teach you in the classroom but you too have to learn and try to improve yourself, she further added while informing the  students about the dismal results in the previous years and hoping for better results in future. She also checked the reading ability of students in the primary section and demonstrated basic techniques for their improvement.
The DC also checked the attendance of teachers in the school and instructed them to take special care in improving the reading ability of students, concentrate on language abilities, sentence construction etc. and work towards bringing confidence in  students.
The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of the mid day meal availability, checked the kitchen facility of the school and tasted the quality of the meal prepared, during the visit.
