PASIGHAT, Mar 9: Looking forward to the ensuing Parliamentary and Assembly elections- 2019, East Siang DC cum DEO Dr. Kinny Singh has directed all the officers and officials to leave no stone unturned to ensure a free, fair and absolutely error-free election in the district. To achieve record voter turnout in the coming simultaneous elections, stupendous efforts were undertaken by the DEO on voters’ registration and participations throughout the district. She has been convening series of meetings, overseeing all the aspects of the poll preparedness to ensure that nothing was left unaddressed and unattended.
Strengthening the election machineries with numerous trainings through lectures and demonstrations, the eligible voters of the district were sensitized about the importance of exercising “Right to Vote”. Yesterday, the DEO in presence of SP Prashant Gautam, DSP Tapang Tatak, EAC (Eln) Sibo Pasing and others formally launched one EVM demonstration centre in the office premise under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme where anyone could visit and clear doubt about EVM-VVPAT. Several electoral awareness campaigns were also being organized well in advance, Dr. Singh informed adding that a mammoth exercise was being carried out across all the constituencies to ensure ‘Greater Participation for a Stronger Democracy’ under SVEEP.
