DAPORIJO, Oct 7: Under the initiative of Deputy Commissioner Upper Subansiri Danish Ashraf, “I Study” Campaign was launched during the fifth Sarkaar Aapke Dwaar Camp held at Nacho circle (covering 35 villages). The main focus of this campaign is to promote and ensure re-enrolment of drop-out students of the district, who have left their schools at an early age due to various financial and personal reasons.
During the launch of this initiative, eight students (from Nacho Circle) were given free school items and certificates by the DC in presence of education officers and teachers of the nearest school where they will be enrolled. These students will be registered at their nearest school to continue their studies. DC also motivated their parents along with other parents participating during the camp to ensure their children continue their studies. Directions were issued to the BEO (Block Education Officer) and teachers to monitor the progress of these students specifically and submit report to the DC office.
DC further said that this campaign will be very instrumental to ensure and motivate re-enrolment of drop-out students at their nearest school. Out of eight enrolled students four were girls, which is an important step to ensure actual implementation of the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” Abhiyaan. The DC directed the education officials that special focus be given to the government schools of Nacho, which is a very remote circle of the district.
Besides, the DC has also committed to ensure better amenities and infrastructure in schools. This initiative was undertaken in co-ordination with Education & ICDS department. CDPO Nacho was very instrumental to trace out all these students and motivate their parents for re-enrolment. This initiative will continue in other circles of the district and soon focus will be on those children who are put into child labour.
